ECHO

Echo– it is a simple, painless test done to help determine the size and shape of the heart. It also helps to see how well the heart muscles and valves are working. It is a non-invasive test that involves no radiation.

What to Expect?

• It takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes
• You will be asked to change into a gown and lie on a bed.
• Your chest will be cleaned and shaved if necessary.
• Three stickers/ patches will be put on your chest.
• You will be asked to lie on your left side with your left arm raised above your head.
• Gel will be applied to your chest, upper abdomen and sometimes neck and a small probe will be used to do the scan.
• After the test the reports will be discussed by your doctor and a copy of the report will be given to you.
